What can I purchase through the Online Shop? 

All of the “Program essentials” that will allow your family and/or unit to function.  We sell uniforms, apparel, patches, and literature, as well as earned recognition (merit badges, adventure loops, rank badges, etc.). 

We can purchase advancements online?  Do we need to provide “paperwork”? 

Yes!  You can purchase your unit’s advancements on our site.  No, “paperwork” (advancement reports) are not required.  There is an option to import from Scoutbook CSV file, but this is not required – it is only an option to make life easier. 

We can import advancements from Scoutbook? 

Yes!  We heard you!  You already took the time to add all your advancements into Scoutbook, so why enter them again into our store?  There is a separate document that details that process (see the sidebar of the Shop), but all you have to do is download the CSV version of your advancements from Scoutbook and import it into our store. 

Can we import advancements from Troopmaster, Packmaster, or other tools?

At this time, no.  We are looking into the feasibility of importing from other tools, but that requires some cooperation with the tool vendors.

Where is my order being shipped from? 

Our Eagle, Michigan (just west of Lansing) corporate office and distribution center. 

I am from another council. Can I purchase items from the MCC Online Shop? 

Unfortunately, no. We are only permitted to sell and ship to locations within the Michigan Crossroads Council. The shipping system will not allow zip codes outside of our council area.  

MCC branded items (e.g., MCC CSPs) not sold anywhere else in the country are permitted to be sold out-of-state by our shop, but those orders will be required to be placed by phone. 

For the 2023-2024 program year, how can my unit receive the free rank badges and kits?

As a portion of the MCC Program Fee, badges of rank and Eagle, Quartermaster, and Summit Award kits will provided free of charge two ways:

  • Online at the MCC Online Shop.  A special “Free Ranks and Kits” page has been set up to indicate which advancements are free for units.  You will still be required to pay shipping on the items.
  • In Person at the MCC Shop at Eagle, located just west of Lansing.

This benefit is currently NOT available at any of the other Scout Shops (Grand Rapids, Troy, Auburn, Ann Arbor, Burton, Kalamazoo, or Detroit) in our council.  Those shops are not owned by the council and cannot provide this benefit.

For the 2023-2024 program year, how can a family obtain the 10% off benefit?

A 10% one-time discount (one time per family) can be redeemed at the Eagle Scout Shop or at the Online MCC Scout Shop.  Coupon code member23 will be valid August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2024.  The 10% does not apply to advancements or council apparel.  The system will allow each purchaser to use the code one time.  A Scout is Trustworthy.

Is US Postal Service the only option for shipping? 

Currently, yes.  We looked into other methods, but we found that since we are shipping to locations only within lower Michigan, shipping will inherently be fast.  Other options aren’t much faster and were far more expensive.  If you need something overnight, please let us know.  (Call or email.  You can still place the order online, but contact us about changing the shipping option). 

How much is shipping?

It depends on the size and weight of the item(s) you are purchasing.  The system will calculate the shipping options upon checking out based on the total size/weight of your package(s).

For most deliveries, the customer can choose between USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 days) and USPS Priority Mail (1-3 days) .  These shipping options will come with a tracking number. USPS Ground Asvantage starts at $3.84 and Priority Mail Starts at $6.84 but varies with weight and size. Individual patches are sent First Class (2-5 days) and will not include a tracking number  First Class shipping starts at $0.83

I live in the Lansing area.  Can I pick up my order after ordering online? 

At this time, no.  We are looking into making this an option if necessary. 

How fast will shipments be created and shipped out? 

In most cases, we will process the order the same or next business day.  If you order items that are on backorder, the processing time will increase, potentially 1-2 weeks.  For custom orders, including most MCC apparel, expect production to take up to five weeks.  Our hours/days can be found on the MCC Scout Shop page (see “MCC Scout Shop at Eagle”). https://michiganscouting.org/scout-shops/.  We are currently closed weekends.

I don’t see the products that I need. Will you stock it in the future?

Some of our items may be listed as available to backorder, in which case you can add them to your cart and pay for them.  We will order them and ship them as soon as they arrive, usually within a week.

We do not stock all items in the store, e.g., Sea Scout awards or Venturing uniforms.  If you are in need to these items and do not see them, please contact us.

My Unit is Tax-exempt.  Can we take advantage of that online? 

Yes!  For each ACCOUNT that will be placing orders, you will need to submit and have approved Tax Exempt paperwork (same form can be submitted for multiple accounts).  Please see the Tax Exempt Process document located in the right sidebar of the site for details on this process. 

What payment options are accepted? 

We currently accept credit cards.  We are looking into the feasibility of offering PayPal as an option. 

What if I have to return all or part of my order? 

If you need to return an item, please contact the Scout Shop (contact information below).  We will exchange or refund your order as needed. Please see our Refunds and Returns policy page. 

My unit earned a gift card for selling popcorn. Can we redeem that on the Online Store? 

Unfortunately, no. The Gift Cards are valid at our the stores in the council that are run by the National BSA organization; the Online Store is owned and run by council. The gift cards cannot be redeemed at the online store nor the physical store at Eagle.
