To earn the Liberty in Action 250th Anniversary Challenge Emblem, Scouts must complete one activity from each of the five categories below between March 2026 and February 2027.
1. Founding Ideals in Today’s Life
Choose one:
• Research the meaning of these phrases in 1776 and today, then share modern examples:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident …”
“All men are created equal …”
“Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness …”
OR
• Identify something that represents fairness, freedom, or happiness and explain how it connects to your life.
2. Civic Spirit & Scouting
Choose one:
• Research examples of how Scouting America or Exploring supported national spirit or significant service efforts and share your findings.
OR
• Create a time capsule (physical, digital, or written list) showing what Scouting represents today.
3. Creative Expression
Choose one:
• Design a commemorative patch or coin and explain its symbolism.
• Deliver a 2–3 minute speech on liberty, rights, or an inspiring American.
• Create a short video (60–90 seconds) or poster series connecting 1776 to today.
(Parent/guardian approval required before posting.)
• Learn a skill or play a game from the 1700s.
4. Founding Era Site Visit (In-Person or Virtual)
Choose one:
• Visit a founding-era site (1760–1805), including virtual tours.
• Attend the National Jamboree America250 display.
• Research your local community’s history since 1776 and share your findings.
• Participate in a 250th anniversary celebration event.
5. Service Milestone – Impact365 Initiative
• Complete a service project reflecting American founding ideals such as civic responsibility, equality, liberty, or the common good.
• Record and submit your service hours.
